Annie Couch advises businesses, homeowners’ associations, property owners, and investors throughout Western North Carolina on transactional, governance, and general counsel matters.

Annie works closely with businesses and associations on contracts, governance, risk management, and day-to-day legal issues. Her HOA and POA practice includes advising boards on governing documents, board procedures, owner communications, and other issues that arise in the operation and governance of community associations. She also serves as fractional general counsel to businesses and associations seeking ongoing legal guidance without the need for full-time in-house counsel.

In her business practice, Annie advises clients on entity formation and governance, succession planning, and a wide range of commercial agreements and transactions. Her approach emphasizes clear documentation, practical risk management, and addressing potential issues before they develop into disputes.

Before relocating to Western North Carolina, Annie practiced corporate and securities law in Nashville, Tennessee, where she represented public and private companies in complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and securities offerings. That experience informs the disciplined, practical approach she now brings to businesses, associations, and property matters throughout Western North Carolina.

Annie graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she served as a Research Editor of the Tennessee Law Review, was selected as a Hardwick Fellow, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

Annie is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Tennessee.
